Happy Sunday, y’all!
I have plenty to share, so let’s dive right in:
eating(/drinking)
Trader Joe’s Low Calorie Lemonade — I’ll probably have a TJ rec or two in the next several editions of Benediction because I got some new-to-me things last week and they’ve all been hits (sidenote: saw this meme the other day and felt ATTACKED). I love this lemonade — it’s tart in the best way — but I will say Zach does not love it. Really wishing I had a decent blender so I could mix it with some vanilla ice cream to make my own version of Chick-fil-A Frosted Lemonade.
Lillie Eats & Tells Sloppy Joes — On last week’s menu. Considering how many times I’ve made this, I was shocked when I looked back and realized I’ve never shared this recipe here. I just use a regular pound package of ground turkey and serve on Walmart Marketside Brioche Buns, usually with Alexia Frozen Sweet Potato Fries. Z often adds Swiss cheese on top of his.
reading
Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau — I originally saw this one somewhere in the Bookstagram universe, and a 4+ star read on Goodreads with nearly 25K reviews easily gets my attention. Set in the 70s, this coming-of-age novel is from the perspective of a straight-laced, 14-year-old girl who nannies for a neighbor family for the summer… and the family just happens to be secretly housing a one of Hollywood’s biggest “it” couples while one of them tries to sober up.
loving
M-61 Hydraboost Face Oil — I got a sample of this facial oil at Bluemercury and it is lovely. I’ve been using it while watching TV in bed at night with a rose quartz gua sha stone (sold out, but this is the one I have) that Emmy bought me a while back, and it feels so luxurious. I follow it up with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. The face oil isn’t cheap, but it’s worth an ask for a sample at Bluemercury if if you have one nearby! If you have a face oil rec that’s a little cheaper so I can continue my Netflix + Gua Sha routine, holler.
A $20 Midi Dress (Target) — Got a medium in the dark pink. This is going to get A LOT of wear this spring and summer. It’s just the right thickness where you can tell it’s going to hold up well, and I love the length. Wore with a jean jacket to church last Sunday and a casual work breakfast on Monday.
Hippo Campus Spotify Radio (AGAIN) — Well, this was my biggest Benediction error to date. After scheduling last week’s issue to publish, I came back and started to add Hippo Campus Radio, and then I thought, “Nah, I’ll wait and include this next week”… but apparently Substack didn’t delete what I thought it deleted. SORRY ‘BOUT THAT.
I have listened to this all week while working and sometimes while driving and I stand firmly behind this rec.
See you in April!(!!!)
Wishing you well,
Mollie
